Rationale

The findings of the evaluation will provide guidance for future policy directions in relation to health care for the Australian Indigenous population.

Aims

The evaluation is an action research model and assessing the Service in terms of accessibility, equity, effectiveness, appropriateness, efficiency, capacity, support and participation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) community and cultural security.

Design and Method

The evaluation is using a mixed method approach. The data elements include de-identified patient demographic and service utilization data from Marumali and Medicare claim data. Semi-structured interviews will be conducted with all the parties involved with the Service.
