CPHCE Vision
The CPHCE is committed to intervention research that impacts on policy and practice. The long term vision of the centre is to improve the communities health and wellbeing through a focus on improved primary health care services and development of policies and strategies that address health inequalities.
The Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity (CPHCE) is part of the Faculty of Medicine and is associated with the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales. Executive Director, Professor Mark Harris has been the Foundation Professor of General Practice at the University of New South Wales since 1990. The CEO and Director of CPHCE is Associate Professor Gawaine Powell-Davies.
In 2005, the CPHCE was recognised as an official Research Centre of the University of New South Wales. The development has been pivotal in formalising and consolidating the research we conduct and strengthens our reputation as a leading research centre here and overseas.
